Cadent is the UK’s largest gas distribution network. Cadent manage a network of more than 80,000 miles of pipes, most of them underground, which transport gas to 11 million customers.
Cadent’s depot-centric strategy involved investing heavily in their staff to cultivate the management and leadership skills needed to transition from an operating model that managed everything from the centre – capital projects, emergency work and planned work – to one that placed responsibility for day-to-day execution into the depots. However, by late 2018 the transformation programme had stalled, staff morale had suffered, and many were saying a depot-centric operating model could not be delivered.
Cadent asked VISION to step in and put the programme back on track.
