Getting a Virtual Network Started

We find it useful to consider 4 different phases in building the virtual enterprise network as shown on the second face of the cube.

1. DESIGN: We conduct a "first pass" through all ten aspects of the model via workshops with the network members supported by specific collaborative work done in work-groups.

2. ENABLE: We design, set-up, test and load the virtual network web-site and the user groups, folders and permissions within the network.

3. MOBILISE: We train the participants in the use of the web site and the new working practices and then support them through on-going coaching. We also support and develop the members in their ability to operate the virtual enterprise network roles.

4. OPERATE: We support the participants in operating the virtual network in pilot mode to achieve its 1st success. We coach them and help them resolve any difficult issues, which arise.
