Clare and Limerick Youth Services provides support for young people
VISION Trust works with two youth organisations in Limerick city and the country of Clare, respectively, on Ireland's west coast.
Clare and Limerick Youth Services are agencies that provide a unique form of support for hundreds of young people.
Established in 1969, Clare Youth Services has charitable status and is linked by affiliation to the National Youth Federation.
Limerick Youth Services, created in 1973, has continued to respond to the emerging and changing needs of young people and is now a multifaceted organisation employing more than 50 full-time staff.
Each agency specialises in assisting those who have dropped out of the education system and are in need of training and support. Several self-supporting businesses have been spawned where disadvantaged youth are employed.
The committees behind the operations of the centres are committed to the effective transfer of skills, training and knowledge to the young people who avail of their assistance.
VISION Trust's involvement
VISION Trust is helping the management teams in both locations develop their operations.
The introduction of VISION concepts and training has been the impetus for dramatic change within the organisational structure of the services.
In the case of Limerick Youth Services, VISION helps in the development of the key staff as a team of leaders committed to bringing a shared vision to the organisation.
Clare Youth Services and VISION Trust have worked together to create a new approach to their work. The organisation has undergone huge change, which has improved the internal workings of the organisation and has resulted in Clare Youth Services offering a better, more-focused service to young people.
