Jim McLoughlin
CFO, Group Director
In February 2006 Jim McLoughlin re-joined Vision U.S. as CFO, Group Director. Jim initially joined VISION as CFO in February 2000 and left VISION in April 2003 to pursue personal interests.
He qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG in Dublin and became UK finance director of Fyffes, an Irish publicly quoted company. Fyffes is one of the largest importers and distributors of bananas and fresh produce in the world. Jim was responsible for the entire finance function in the UK. In the early 1990s Fyffes was on an aggressive acquisition trail and Jim was responsible for integrating newly acquired businesses into Fyffe's existing UK operations.
In 1996, Jim became finance director of an Irish PLC, the Jones Group. Jones was a mini-conglomerate, with interests in sectors as diverse as oil distribution, printed circuit boards and shipping. Jim and his fellow directors undertook a strategic review of operations which resulted in a disposal programme over an 18 month period, culminating in the delisting from the Stock Exchange of the Jones Group. The process, which was described by the media as a "courageous move to extract value for shareholders", increased the share price by 75%.
