Title: Various Remote Software Development Projects
VISION has provided software development services from Belfast to the Client's Financial Markets Division since Nov 2002. These services have been for a number of front and back office functions, covering the full development life cycle from Requirements Analysis through to supporting user acceptance testing and providing rollout and post go-live support.
To date six projects have been completed. Time to market was a key success criterion for all these projects, therefore our style of rapid mobilisation, incremental development, regular client reviews, rigorous progress and issue management were critical in ensuring the applications were deployed in timeframes ranging from six weeks to six months.
1. VISION brought extensive user interface design experience to bear to produce a set of rich prototypes to support our customer in defining detailed business requirements.
2. VISION was responsible for technical design, development, system/integration testing, user acceptance testing and post go-live support of a FX Order Management system.
3. To satisfy regulatory requirements VISION were tasked with delivering an intranet solution in six weeks. This was achieved successfully. VISION provided a further five releases of new functionality including introducing automated batch processing and interfaces to legacy applications. VISION carried out requirements definition and analysis, technical design, development, system/integration and user acceptance testing and post go-live support.
4. VISION also provided design and development resources to integrate electronic confirmations of selective transactions with various legacy applications.
5. VISION also developed an application to reduce trader effort in defining and maintaining business critical reference and market data, covering the full development life cycle.
6. VISION developed an Autoquoter sub-system to support electronic trading with an external trading platform. Again, VISION covered the full development life cycle.
Technologies used were both Java-centric (Java, JSP, EJBs etc) and Microsoft-centric (C#, ASP.net, VB.net, VC++, VB, COM+ etc), Sybase and XML.
