Ian Duncan

Director and Practice Leader, Ireland.

Over the past fifteen years, Ian has made a career successfully leading complex corporate change and technology programmes. He has led these programmes primarily within Financial Services, Utilities and Small-to-Medium Enterprises. While widely appreciated as a change manager, Ian joined VISION in 2004 to take responsibility for developing business in the Irish market where he has consistently hit ambitious targets.

Ian is a passionate proponent and practitioner of Commitment-based Management^TM, VISION’s powerful set of management practices based on the structure of promises. Commitment-based Management delivers clear, improvements in corporate performance fast. From the initial improvements, Commitment-based Management builds cultures of high trust and high efficiency. Before joining VISION Consulting, Ian worked for ABN AMRO for six years in their investment banking division in London where he held a number of roles across their finance and operations functions, before taking on various project leadership roles where he led complex business and technology programmes. It was here in this fast-paced environment that Ian came to realise the real value of getting people aligned around common purpose and goals and came across Commitment-based Management^TM

He also served as an operations analyst and product controller in Caspian Securities an emerging markets investment bank. Ian started his career as a corporate strategy consultant in Irish Permanent. There he led strategic planning, competitor intelligence, market positioning, and acquisition targeting.

Ian holds a Master in Business Administration from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh, an Advanced Management Diploma in Business and Executive Coaching from UCD and is a qualified accountant (FCCA). He is a certified coach with the EMCC and a member of IMCA.
